I couldn’t wait to ride my first trail. I decided to ride the Granite Town Rail Trail. According to Komoot, this was an easy trail. I decided to go north on the trail and turn around when it does a hard section to go around a new development that was built in the middle of the trail.
It started out really nice. It was downhill for a short distance, then it was a rough and bumpy ride. That made pedaling more difficult. By the time I got to my turnaround point, I felt like I was going to vomit. I stopped for a rest.
After my long rest (standing), I head back down the trail. I could barely continue. When I finally got to the section that had a bench and a beautiful view, I stopped for another rest. I ended up pushing my bike back the rest of the way.
Later, I found out my suspension fork was locked, so there had been no suspension in play. I never had a bike with suspension, so I didn’t know to check for it. It has been unlocked.
